CEATL provides detailed information on the legal status of translators which includes:

UNESCO’s Nairobi Recommendations on the ‘Legal Protection of Translators and Translations and the Practical Means to improve the Status of Translators’ 22nd November 1976.

Quoting from translations laid down in EU Directive 2001/29/European Parliament and of the Council of 22nd May 2001 on the harmonisation of certain aspects of copyright and related rights in the information society.
