Rita and Whatsit at School
by Jean-Philippe Arrou-Vignod
Age Range: Under_5
Rita decides to take Whatsit to school but it’s on the understanding that he behaves and stays out of sight. Undetected, Whatsit! creates havoc in the painting session, chaos in the gym, problems at lunchtime and confusion in the playground. Rita cannot understand why Whatsit is too exhausted to play with her when they get home.
This is a lovely series of books about Rita, a rather determined, cross and bossy little girl, and Whatsit, the cheeky, playful, philosophical dog with no name.
Jean-Philippe Arrou-Vignod’s delightful dialogue between the two friends is accompanied by charming, minimalistic illustrations by Olivier Tallec, full of detail and wit.
The other titles in the series are - Rita and Whatsit, Rita and Whatsit at the Beach, Christmas with Rita and Whatsit, Rita and Whatsit’s New Friend and Rita and Whatsit go on a Picnic.
