When Little Owl Met Little Rabbit
by Przemyslaw Wecherowicz
Age Range: Under_5
Little Owl and Little Rabbit live in the same oak tree but have never met. As they grow up, they become curious about each other. “Who is Little Owl,” asks Little Rabbit. She has big yellow eyes and can hunt in the dark his mother tells him. “Who is Little Rabbit,” asks Little Owl. Father Owl tells her “He has huge fluffy ears and can hop through the long grass all day.” They are both eager to meet, but how can they play together when Little Owl wakes up just as Little Rabbit goes to sleep?
This sweet story by Polish poet, children’s playwright and award-winning picture-book author Przemyslaw Wechterowicz, translated by Polly Lawson, embraces difference and the importance of friendship as Little Owl and Little Rabbit conjure up ingenious ways to meet up and play together. Accompanied by engaging and humorous illustrations by Polish illustrator Emilia Dziubak.
