‘We need the literature of other countries to expand our
horizons and stimulate our ideas. Without it, we are not only
diminished, we are starved’

Welcome to the ghost party and have plenty of fun following the hilarious events that happen during dinnertime in the great dining hall of the castle. Henry the ghost has decided to have a party and to invite six of his friends. While the guests sit comfortably at the dinner table, Henry flits back and forward to the kitchen bringing special drinks and dishes he has prepared.
This is the typical picture book where readers need to look at the illustrations in order to follow the story. For instance, Henry offers a variety of drinks to his guests which result in each ghost changing their appearance and camouflaging themselves according to the colour of the beverage they have: blue, pink, yellow, green and the orange colour that comes from the pumpkin soup.
Ghost Party was originally published in France in 1994 and it took ten long years to come to the UK. Look out for Loch Ness Ghosts, also published by Frances Lincoln.
