Wolf and the Fly (The)
by Antje Damm
Age Range: Under_5
“The wolf is feeling a bit peckish today. So he eats the …” So starts this delightful board book by award-winning German author and illustrator Antje Damm. The text, translated by Catherine Chidgey, is kept to the left-hand-page while on the right-hand-page there are illustrations of shelves full of toys ranging from a duck, apple, fish cacti, car, fly, bird, and cat are displayed. One toy after another disappears into the mouth of this greedy wolf. When he’s almost full, he decides that a last little fly for dessert will complete his meal, but he experiences a reaction he was not expecting!
Damm has created a clever interactive puzzle book that combines a story and guessing, memory, observation, and naming game in which one toy after another disappears. An ideal book for parents to share and enjoy with toddlers as they guess which objects on the shelf will be eaten next.
