Not Without My Tractor!
by Finn-Ole Heinrich and Dita Zipfel
Age Range: Under_5
The narrator’s parents are moving to the city and they tell him that it’s no place for a tractor. They have a problem though because he’s not going anywhere … Not without his tractor! Tractors can do anything: tunnel through mountains or dig a swimming pool. Even if the tractor is only standing still he’s useful. He can keep the sun out of your eyes or he can provide shelter from the wind.
Finn-Ole Heinrich and Dita Zipfel’s text, translated by Siobhán Parkinson, is witty but it is the bold and brash block-colour artwork by Halina Kirschner with its rich orange, blue and thick black brush strokes that are bursting with energy that will endear this story to all those young tractor fans.
