Ralf.
by Jean Jullien and Gwendal Le Bec
Age Range: Under_5
Ralf is a dog who takes up a lot of space! Although he doesn't mean to, his long body just keeps getting in the way and he is manages to cause chaos wherever he goes. Finally, banished to his kennel outside, everything is peaceful until Ralf sees smoke coming from the house and realises the family are in danger. Hurrying to alert his owners he finds his bottom half gets stuck in the dog flap. Will Ralf find a way to be the hero of the day?
The original idea and illustrations for Ralf are by French graphic designer and illustrator Jean Jullien who collaborated on the text with Gwendal Le Bec. Jullien created the image "Peace for Paris" after the terrible atrocities in Paris 2015 which became a worldwide sign of support for France.
Ralf is a lovable character and unlikely hero. The simply comic block colour illustrations, particularly of Ralf, are full of expression making this a picture book that can be read again and again.
