Laura's Star and the Sleepover
by Klaus Baumgart
Age Range: 6-8
Laura and her friend Sophie are very excited because they are going to have a sleepover at Sophie’s aunt’s house by the sea. The girls have great fun planning their weekend. They are going to collect shells, and have a midnight feast. Although Laura is looking forward to the weekend she begins to get nervous about being away from her family, but her special friend, the star is able to reassure her. But when the sleepover doesn’t quite go according to plan will the star be there to help?
The sparkly star is always there to guide Laura and light up the watercolour illustrations. This First Reader series does not have as much artwork as the picture books in the ‘Laura’ series – only six full-page illustrations, but it does have many vignettes which are still just as attractive.
Others titles in the series are: Picture Books – Laura’s Star, Laura’s Christmas Star and Laura’s Secret. First Reader series – Laura’s Star and the Search for Santa and Laura’s Star and the New Teacher. There is also a Laura’s Star Sticker Activity Book.
