How Obelix Fell into the Magic Potion When he was a Little Boy (Asterix)
by Rene Goscinny
Age Range: 9-11
Obelix has always told everyone about falling into the cauldron of magic potion when he was a young boy, (they never heard the last of it), but no one knew how, until now. Asterix narrates the story of his friend and what happened to him all those years ago.
This book has a different format from the usual comic-strip cartoon of the Asterix books, having first been created as a short story that René Goscinny originally wrote for the weekly magazine Pilote in 1965. The layout is much more like a conventional picture book with the watercolour illustrations by Albert Udarzo on either a single or double-page spread with the text on a separate page or at the bottom. Avid Asterix fans will enjoy discovering Obelix’s secret.
