Where is Grandma?
by Peter Schossow
Age Range: 6-8
Where is Grandma? by world-renowned German picture book artist, Peter Schössow is rather unusual. Henry, a little boy is taken to see his Grandma in hospital. Unfortunately he gets lost when he goes off in search of her after getting bored waiting for his nanny Gulsa to come off her phone.
Henry is somewhat daunted at first by the vastness of the hospital – there are so many doors, lifts going up and down and an endless number of corridors that go off in different directions. Schössow’s wonderful detailed artwork show this to great effect with his use of perspective as well as also providing an insight into what goes on in a hospital. Down every corridor Henry finds people to talk to from the staff, patients and visitors but can he find his Grandma?
An amusing, clever book that will help to demystify hospitals for young children.
