Hug Me, Please!
by Przemystaw Wechterowicz and Emilia Dziubak
Age Range: Under_5
Daddy Bear knows that a hug always makes you feel good. While out for a stroll in the forest Little Bear suggests they visit Mr Beaver and give him a big hug. They continue to hug each animal they meet, from a reticent Miss Weasel, the Big Bad Wolf, who enjoys the hug so much he misses a girl in a red hood skipping past, to old Mr Elk and even Ms Anaconda! Before long, they have hugged nearly everyone, but perhaps there is someone who has been forgotten?
Hug Me, Please! is an irresistible, heart-warming story with gorgeous illustrations from the hugely talented Polish picture book duo Przemystaw Wechterowic and Emilia Dziubak. The gentle humour permeates through the artwork from the image of Daddy Bear hugging a couple of hares; a surprised hunter, who they feel it would be rude not to hug, and the double-page spread of Daddy Bear and Little Bear’s encounter with a rainbow coloured caterpillar.
