Asterix and the Picts
by Jean-Yves Ferri
Age Range: 9-11
After rescuing a mysterious Pict called MacAroon, Asterix and Obelix must travel to Caledonia, now Scotland, to reunite him with Camomilla, the adopted daughter of the king. But there are dastardly plans afoot by the treacherous chieftain, Maclabaeus, (with the help of the Romans), to marry her and claim the throne for himself. As well as the caber-tossing, bagpipes, malted water and an enormous otter in the loch, can Asterix and Obelix avert disaster and get Camomilla and MacAroon back together again.
Fans of Asterix will love this new story written by Jean-Yves Ferri and illustrated by Didier Conrad. Together they have enabled the Gaulish village created by Rene Goscinny and Albert Uderzo to go on having new adventures to the delight of the many Asterix fans.
