Welcome to Mamoko
by Aleksandra and Daniel Mizielinski
Age Range: 6-8
There is trouble in the air in Mamoko. Itís the day of the Town Carnival, but itís not clear if everyone will be able to go. Daniel Daub is having a very unusual day with his lucky coin, Claude Van Clue is on the case as there is a thief on the prowl, Alexander Stripe is in a hurry and Miss Chubb has lost her most prized possession. Will everything turn out right before the Carnival?
In this amazing wordless picture book from two of Polandís most innovative illustrators, Aleksandra Mizielińska and Daniel Mizieliński, the world of Mamoko is where the reader becomes the storyteller. Children will have fun following each of the 23 characters, (who are introduced in the inside cover at the front of the book with some helpful clues), as they travel through the pages discovering the kaleidoscope of tales waiting to be uncovered.
Each double-page spread has a mass of intricate activity within the vibrant, rich pen and watercolour illustrations. The attention to detail is incredible, but this is no surprise from this Polish duo that created H.O.U.S.E. and D.E.S.I.G.N., two amazing non-fiction books about architecture and design from around the world. Readers will love the endearing comical characters as they each go on their own separate adventure.
