Sticker Art Shapes: Pablo Picasso
by Slyvie Delpech and Caroline Leclerc
Age Range: 6-8
The Sticker Art Shapes series from France are a fun way for children to discover the works of some of the world’s most famous artists while at the same time enabling them to create their own unique masterpiece.
This book explores six of Spanish artist Pablo Picasso‘s paintings. Picasso mixed with artists of the avant-garde movement in his early years. His art is impossible to define because of his sharply conflicting styles that intermingle and supersede one another.
At the front of the book is a helpful page of information about the artist, his life and work that will help to put the paintings into context.
Children can look at the original work and then try out their own version on the opposite page by arranging the re-useable stickers. They can experiment with colours, shapes and composition to recreate the original or produce their own individual piece of art.
Other titles in the series are: Giuseppe Arcimboldo, Alexander Calder, Sonia Delaunay, Vassily Kandinsky, Gustav Klimt, Paul Klee, Henri Matisse, Joan Miró and Andy Warhol.
