Bertha and the Frog Choir
by Luc Foccroulle
Age Range: Under_5
It is Bertha’s big day. She has an audition to sing in the prestigious frog choir, but unfortunately when she attempts to sing, the choir leader and all the other frogs have to cover their ears! Poor Bertha fails to make it into the choir but she is not the only one; Lucy is told she is too small to join even though she has a beautiful voice. The two friends plot together and come up with an ingenious solution of how they can both join the choir, but will it work?
This is a hilarious quirky story by French author Luc Foccroulle. Children will love singing the funny words to the tune of ‘Freré Jacques’ on the inside pages of the front and back covers. The use of different fonts help to emphasise the humour in the text and the expressive watercolour illustrations by French illustrator Annick Masson will have children giggling from page to page. This is likely to become a firm favourite to be read again and again.
